Where The Middle is Moving
Ok, its been a year of hope and change.
Its been a year of high unemployment.
Its been a year eye popping deficits.
Its been a year of indecision in Afghanistan.
Its been a year of apologizing for the greatness of America.

Its been a year of liberal failure.

This from Gallup:

"Over the course of the year, independents' preference for the Republican candidate in their districts has grown, from a 1-point advantage in July to the current 22-point gap."

So independents favor R's over D's by 22 points. The D brand is tanking...and rightfully so.

I purchased three from the TN GOP. You should too.

(Non)News From Iran

So today Iran shot off nine missiles and said that they can reach American bases in Iraq and cities like Tel Aviv.

They even said that their fingers are on the trigger. <gasp>

Guess what?

We have missiles that can reach every inch of that country, and there are only so many places where they can launch their missiles from.  My guess is within about 2-minutes their “trigger” wouldn’t be working very well.

Soon after that, whatever navy they have would have to be completely replaced, and their one (!) refinery will need significant repairs by people who would be forced to walk to work each day (because they would have no gasoline).

So if they want to play the “Hey we got missiles!” game, I say....

The Last Stand of the Taliban?

I think after a punishing year for the Taliban, they have decided that they are going to make their last stand.

Several hundred of them have taken positions out in the open in Afghanistan, and are now waiting the coming onslaught, which will be their end. They seek the martyrdom that is at the root of what they do. I am convinced that we will give them what they seek.

I find it amusing that the AP stories actually tries to pump up the Taliban by saying:

"The push into Arghandab district — a lush region filled with grape and pomegranate groves that the Soviet army could never conquer"

Give me a break. They are out in the open. They are outnumbered.  They are outgunned. Their soldiers cannot hold a candle to ours.  My guess is that it will be over in a couple of hours.

Oh The Irony....

This is like saying JUMBO shrimp.

"Members of Russia's Communist Party are calling for a nationwide boycott of the new Indiana Jones movie..."

Lets see. if the communists boycott the movie, the lost ticket sales...breaking out the calculator....$7.

Quotes a Plenty: You Decide

"We should seek by all means in our power to avoid war, by analysing possible causes, by trying to remove them, by discussion in a spirit of collaboration and good will. I cannot believe that such a programme would be rejected by the people of this country, even if it does mean the establishment of personal contact with the dictators"
- Neville Chamberlain

In the democratic debate in Charleston, S.C., Obama was asked by a questioner via YouTube if he would be willing to meet — without precondition — in the first year of his presidency with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea.
“I would,”
- Barack Obama

“Senator Obama has declared, and repeatedly reaffirmed his intention to meet the president of Iran without any preconditions, likening it to meetings between former American presidents and the leaders of the Soviet Union. Such a statement betrays the depth of Senator Obama’s inexperience and reckless judgment. Those are very serious deficiencies for an American president to possess,”
- John McCain

Legislating from the Bench

A quote from an LA Times story about how four of seven people completely ignored the will of millions in California.  I think the quote illustrates what motivates these activist judges.

It also underscores how important it is to have jurists who understand they are there to interpret law…not make it.

“A fellow justice told George she would be at her desk in the morning because she wanted "to be part of history."

A Depressing News Day

First we have the Democratic party undermining our President as he makes a speech in Israel, where he rightly pointed out that appeasement gets you nowhere. The Europeans have been negotiating with Iran for years, while the nuke program rolls on, and the rockets rain down on Israel.  Even just yesterday the President of Iran threatened the existence of Israel. Limp wristed liberals.

Speaking of which….

Then we hear that the Supreme Court in California, against the will of the vast, and I mean vast majority of Californians, has decided that gay marriage is in fact legal. Not only did they say that gay marriage is legal, but they also defined homosexuals as a “protected class” (think race/gender/religion). This is how the liberal agenda gets passed in America. The people of California had voted back in 2000 (Proposition 22) by 60% to 40% to ban gay marriage. So, as always, what they cannot get through the voting booth, liberals take to the courts which make stuff up to suit their agenda. Seven people unilaterally decided this for the millions in California. Combine this with the indoctrination the children in California will ultimately receive, and the families there are doomed.

Barack Obama=BO..Because He Stinks

I have taken to shortening Barack Hussein Obama to simply BO...which is entirely appropriate.

Because he does as a candidate, after all, stink.

The Real Story Behind The Jeremiah Wright Rants

The one thing I noticed about the Jeremiah Wright Rants, both his sermons (which Obama listened to for 20 years) and his appearance before the National Press Club, is that there are none to few people who actually clap…

...in rabid agreement....

when the man speaks.

So when he says the most hateful things about our country ("God DAAAAAAM America!"), his followers actually clap.

Now if North Carolina is any indication, 90% of that demographic will vote for Obama.

If you are voting for Obama, this is the company you are keeping.

Been Away, But I am Back

I have rather been enjoying the Democrat crackup over the last few months, but I have been in a bit of a funk, so I have not been spending a lot of time with my blog.

To anyone who still checks this website, I apologize.

However, there is lots to talk about, and rather than simply let events slip by, I plan to opine here quite a bit more frequently.  As I see it, my opinions cannot be any better or worse than the professional punditry as it relates to the election.  Whether you are a D or an R, one thing is certain….the ones who are paid to write about politics and elections could not have been more wrong about the goings on in the last few months.

I also happen to think my stuff is better written. ;)

Fred...We Hardly Knew Thee!

Alas, my candidate for President has dropped out of the race. Fred Thompson was a solid man of principal, who ultimately did not have the charisma it took to convince others to vote for him.

Now I have very difficult choices to make. Huckabee? Rudy? McCain? Romney?  Ultimately none of these men are perfect but all are superior to anything the D's have.

I Really Never Noticed...

...that Barack Obama was black. I think that my generation and after could honestly care less. However I did notice that he is a flaming liberal, and no matter what color his skin happens to be, he will never get my vote.

I also have to admit that I am rather enjoying watching all the liberals pander to the fact that he is "black". It is interesting to watch all of the "white" establishment poiticians arguing with an entire demographic that they have deceived for the last however many years, appearing like plantation owners of yesteryear after the slaves were freed. Clinton and crew are treating the black vote like children. "Yes we know you have freedom, but you really don't need that, just continue voting for us, because we know better".

Consider this for a moment...if Hillary wins, and Obama is not on the ticket, I do not think that part of the democratic base will be terribly happy. If Obama wins, Hillary will NOT be on the ticket, and all the racists in the democratic party will not come out to play either.

Could be an interesting dynamic come November.

Conspiracy Theories?

Wow…New Hampshire…polls showed that Clinton down double digits…yet she won New Hampshire? Here is Zogby’s tracking poll:

The actual number was 39% Clinton, 36% Obama.
Clearly  something is wrong with the polling models….

Refreshing Applause

During the debates last night in New Hampshire, all of the remaining viable candidates, both Republicans and Dems were on stage at once for a few minutes.

Here is a link.

Don’t watch the video, but listen to it.

For more than a minute the presidential candidates received rather loud applause from the audience. I found this a refreshing moment. No cat calling. No boos. No screaming candidates’ names.

There was just loud, respectful, applause.

The Candidates of “Change”

I find it humorous that all the Dems are talking about “Change”, as if this is the only thing what is really required these days. While there is certainly always room for improvement, particularly amongst our elected representatives and how the deal with each other, there are certain things that I hope don’t “change”.

Take for example the unemployment rate.  Since January 2001, it has been no higher than 6.3%, averaging around 5.2%. It is now around 5%. That is damn near what many economists call “full employment

Since 9/11 we have not had major attacks on our soil, but we have eliminated threats in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and to a certain extent North Korea. Al Qaeda in Iraq, or should we say formerly in Iraq, has been decimated.

So I would hope that as much things "change" certain things stay the same.

The Huckabee Appeal

For too long the Republican Party has ignored a sizable core of its coalition…that of the Christian Conservative. It really is hard to define people anymore these days, but I think, at the core, a Christian Conservative believes that there are forces eroding America’s moral fiber.  They look at the homosexual indoctrination their children endure at the hands of the public schools, and the slaughter of a million+ preborn children each year, and instinctively realize that there truly is something wrong in America. These two issues trump near all other issues in a Christian Conservative mindset.

Huckabee’s appeal is that he is an unwavering pro life, pro family candidate. From the Christian Conservative point of view, addressing these issues will go a long way to restoring much that was right and good with America, and other issues take a back seat. Their support of Huckabee should be a clarion call for the other well more funded candidates.

I have been watching the bashing that Huckabee has been taking by the “conservatives” in the Republican party, and I cannot help but wonder why is he coming under such fierce attacks?  Even  Rush Limbaugh (twice divorced) is seemingly not terribly appreciative of those “Hucksters”  In many ways it seems apparent there is this expectation that Christian Conservatives should be seen at the polls, but not really heard on policy. There is a strong sense of arrogance among the conservative media elite out there (Rush/Sean/Malkin etc…), and I think they need to drop it down a notch. I think their heads are a little too big, and they should realize that when they poke at Huckabee they are poking at the eyes of a great many in their own party.

Me…I am going for Thompson, then McCain, then Rudy….but I feel for Huckabee. , and more importantly, I think his supporters deserve better.

The Face of the Democratic Party in NJ

Behold the face of the democratic party.

This is Jessie Timmendequas. Ever heard of Megans law? Well this is the guy that killed Megan. He was on death row, such as it was, here in NJ. Well, thanks to the democrats here in NJ, he can sleep easy knowing that he will live a full life, have 3 square meals a day, all the exercise and TV he wants, and we have to pay for it. All of this  because as part of banning the death sentence here in NJ, the democrats also turned his death sentence into life in prison.

Dumb is what dumb does.
